What is the Jesus Seminar? And who are the Fellows?
As the Jesus Seminar continues the attempt to undermine the historicity and validity of the Biblical facts, they also set forth a false dichotomy (something with seemingly contradictory qualities, Webster's), endeavoring to set the Jesus of faith in opposition to the Jesus of history (as if there is a difference when the justifiable evidence is presented).

They would find; that they are admonished by Christ Himself to "Search the Scriptures" (John 5:39); that people are liable to make mistakes if they do not know the Scriptures (Matt. 22:29); that those are blessed who read the Scriptures (The Apocalypse 1:3); and that "All Scripture inspired of God is profitable to teach" (2 Tim. 3:16).

Courting the Media at the Cost of Truth
Anyone who thinks Gnosticism no longer has proponents should be advised that the truth is just the opposite. In fact, if the selfaggrandizing press releases of the Jesus Seminar are to be believed, the consensus of scholarship now believes that documents thoroughly influenced by Gnosticism, such as the Gospel of Thomas, from which the above citation is taken, are far more reflective of the actual teachings of Jesus Christ than the "canonical Gospels" familiar to most Christians Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

The Harry Potter books may be the biggest success story in childrens literature. The series by a British woman named J. K. Rowling, who started writing them as a divorced single mother on welfare, has sold over 12 million copies, dominating the best seller lists for over two years. At one point, Harry Potter books ranked nos. 1, 2, and 3, the first time one author had ever taken the top three spots. The fourth Harry Potter book was a best seller based on advanced orders alone before it was ever published and when ...

Da Vinci Code Decoding
From The Apologetics Group An Interview with Peter Jones: Cracking The Da Vinci Code

From Alpha & Omega Ministries 22 Articles by Dr. James R. White Debunking Dan Brown's "Fact Based Fiction"
November 7, 2005 A Quick Aside on the Da Vinci Issue in Light of Current Events
Yahoo! had a story yesterday on the finding of an ancient Christian church in Israel, one pre-dating Constantine (hat tip SafeHaven). And almost as if on cue, the story contains this paragraph:
Two mosaics inside the church one covered with fish, an ancient Christian symbol that predates the cross tell the story of a Roman officer and a woman named Aketous who donated money to build the church in the memory "of the god, Jesus Christ." I don't know about you, but I sorta have to chuckle a bit that Dan Brown is making millions off lying about Constantine making up the deity of Christ right as the earth gives up an example of the ancient nature of belief in the deity of Christ, just as we see in Ignatius or Melito of Sardis. Must be a conspiracy or something.

The Trinity should be the object of our love, for the doctrine expresses the very heart and soul of Scriptures message of redemption. If we wish to have a solid foundation for our faith, we need to learn why this doctrine is central and what it really expresses. We must also be able to recognize denials of the Trinity, whether blatant or subtle, and we must call Christian leaders to account when they allow this central truth of the faith to be undermined and relegated to debatable status.

A Christian Response to "Embraced by the Light"
Betty Eadies surprise bestseller, Embraced by the Light, has triggered a tremendous interest in near-death experiences (NDEs)... she denies biblical orthodoxy such as the Trinity, the reality of hell, and salvation by faith alone throughout the book. Her world view is an odd mixture of Mormon and New Age thought. Tragically, her false ideas contributed to the suicide of a young woman named Allison.

By Charles H. Spurgeon (1834 - 1892)
Calvinism is just another name for "The Doctrines of Grace" or the true gospel...
IT IS A GREAT THING to begin the Christian life by believing good solid doctrine. Some people have received twenty different "gospels" in as many years; how many more they will accept before they get to their journey's end, it would be difficult to predict. I thank God that He early taught me the gospel, and I have been so perfectly satisfied with it, that I do not want to know any other.

"But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed"
I am very well aware what different effects publishing this letter against the dear Mr. Wesley's Sermon will produce. Many of my friends who are strenuous advocates for universal redemption will immediately be offended. Many who are zealous on the other side will be much rejoiced. They who are lukewarm on both sides and are carried away with carnal reasoning will wish this matter had never been brought under debate.

Regarding his assult on the Gospel of Grace (Calvinism).
"I (Charles H. Spurgeon) have my own private opinion that there is no such thing as preaching Christ and Him crucified, unless we preach what nowadays is called Calvinism. It is a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the gospel, and nothing else."

"World's Largest Church" ‑ "World's Fastest Growing Church" ...
These are frequently heard and seen slogans in these modern days. But, isn't it a little silly to brag or boast about numbers (either large or small ones)? Where in all of God's Word does it tell us to gimmick people into attending church services or Sunday School, like many "fundamental" churches are doing today? The answers to these questions are obvious to all Bible readers. The modern "gimmick gospel" is a fakery, faulty in its desired results, and foolish in the light of Scripture.

Warning, Warning, Warning...!
Harold Camping (now clearly a bonifide HERETIC) is teaching doctrines of demons: "God is done with the Church era." With the recent release of his new book "Time Has An End," it seems to me the next step is "The Harold Camping Cult: Will the Kool-Aid be Next?," here is where to get up to date information on this vital and timely subject: www.familyradioiswrong.com
"The prudent see danger and seek refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it" (Proverbs 27:12 NIV).
"May God have mercy on Mr. Camping, and all his followers!"

Harold Camping is seeing things in Scripture that "no one has ever seen before." Namely, that God is pouring out His wrath on the churches and that, indeed, God has eliminated the church as an institution for the teaching of the saints and the evangelization of the lost! James R. Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan called for the Million Man March to take place in Washington, D.C., on October 16, 1995, and black men across America responded. The response was so enthusiastic that not even the march on Washington by the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., surpassed the crowds that Farrakhan was able to bring together. Why was the Million Man March so effective?

Bible Codes, ELS, mystical numerical symbolism...?
Cultic Counterparts. Like its older manifestation, "Bible numerics" (reading mystical numerical symbolism into Scripture), ELS is best described as a pseudoscience. World religions, such as Islam and Judaism, and cultic movements, such as the Nation of Islam and the Bahais, have long used these methods.

Who do you say that Jesus the Son God is?
The subject of Christ's Eternal Sonship yields in importance to none. If our thoughts on this subject are not God's thoughts, we will not only dishonor the Lord but will bring damnation to our own souls. The thoughts of God expressed in the Scriptures must be understood in their obvious significance.
